Empowerplus is the world’s most studied micronutrient supplement

Did you know Truehope’s flagship product, EMPowerplus—an all-natural, micronutrient supplement formula of 36 vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids designed to improve mental well-being—has been studied by 44 independent researchers at 15 universities around the world?

This makes EMPowerplus the most researched micronutrient formula in the world.

Since 1996, scientists and doctors in clinical practice have studied the effects of EMPowerplus on mental disorders such as bipolar disorder, ADHD, stress, and anxiety. Some research has even studied its effects on people with autism. Results have been very encouraging and significant.

Conventional study of the effects supplements have on mental health has focused on individual nutrients, not broad spectrum supplements like EMPowerplus. When we eat, we consume multiple vitamins and minerals at once, not one nutrient at a time. Rather than trying to find the magic bullet of a single wonder vitamin, EMPowerplus researches have found that broad spectrum supplements more accurately mimic the complex synthesis of multiple vitamins and mineral in central nervous system function.

Since publishing the first study on the EMPowerplus formula in 2001, researchers have published 26 total clinical studies in peer-reviewed academic journals,

The role of nutrition in sleep and mental health

Mental health researchers Dr. Bonnie Kaplan and Dr. Julia Rucklidge highlighted in their most recent Mad in America article a recent study linking nutrition with sleep and mental health.

The study — performed at the University of Canterbury — followed 14 adults suffering from sleep problems to see what effect a broad spectrum formula of vitamins and minerals would have on their sleep. The researchers randomized participants into three groups: the first group started intervention a week later, the second 2 weeks later,

4 eating habits to make you happier

Last month, Iranian researchers published an article in the Eating and Weight Disorders – Studies on Anorexia, Bulimia and Obesity showing yet another link between what we eat and how we feel.

The researchers had 541 students at the Qazvin University of Medical Sciences complete a web-based questionnaire that included questions to measure happiness and food consumption, as well as demographic information.

What they discovered was the the students who had the highest happiness scores also had the following 4 daily eating habits:

  1. Eat breakfast
  2. Eat at least 8 servings of fruit and vegetables
  3. Eat 3 meals
  4. Eat 1–2 snacks

This research joins a growing body of research showing a solid connection between nutrition and mental health.

Can I eat Chinese food for depression?

Time and again, we’ve highlighted research showing a link between nutrition and mental health.

In 2011, researchers in China published a study in Public Health Nutrition about the effect specific diets have on mental health. This is somewhat different from last issue’s study, which focused on specific nutrient levels and their effect on mental health.

New Zealand health legislation threatens Truehope research

Recently, mental health researchers Dr. Bonnie Kaplan and Dr. Julia Rucklidge wrote an article over at Mad in America about pending legislation in New Zealand that could have huge implications on micronutrient research, especially EMPowerplus.

The New Zealand government has already held first and second reading on the Natural Health and Supplementary Products Bill, which will limit access to minerals and vitamins.

7 nutrients important for mental health

An Australian researcher recently published an article in the Journal of the Home Economics Institute of Australia pointing out, once again, the strong connection between nutrition and mental health.

Dietary nutrients are critical for brain structure and function, so they have a potentially profound impact on mental health. An increasingly robust body of research points to the detrimental effect of unhealthy diets and nutrient deficiencies, and to the protective value of healthy diets – along with select nutritional supplements as required – for maintaining and promoting mental health.

Did you know that one of the reasons it’s difficult to perform research on products like Truehope’s EMPowerplus is that because granting agencies across the board don’t fund multinutrient research?

9 nutrients to help with depression

A few years ago, Indian researchers at JSS Medical College and Central Food Technological Research Institute published an article in the Indian Journal of Psychiatry outlining the connection between nutrition and depression.

The researchers highlighted that while the general public accept the connection between nutrition and physical health, ignorance still abounds when connecting nutrition and mental health.

However, nutrition plays a key role in the onset, severity, and duration of depression. In fact, as the researchers wrote,
