Drinking tea may lower risk of depression and anxiety

Researchers in Singapore recently published a study in The Journal of Prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease, showing a connection between long-term tea consumption and depression and anxiety symptoms.

The researchers analyzed the tea consumption habits and the depression and anxiety levels of over 600 people who were at least 60 years old. Nearly 60% of the participants had been drinking tea for at least 15 years.

What they discovered was that those who had been drinking tea over long periods were less likely to experience symptoms of depression or anxiety.

This study joins a growing body of research showing a strong connection between nutrition and mental health. Here at Truehope, we’ve been promoting nutrition as mental health treatment for over 20 years.
