Eric fell off a ladder while he was working, and he suffered multiple injuries as a result. The most severe of all the injuries were to his head, resulting in traumatic brain injury.
Eric was airlifted to a major hospital and admitted into Intensive Care. Doctors give his family little hope in his survival, and hospital staff told them to make funeral arrangements.
Fortunately, Eric did not pass away, but as a result of his brain injuries, he was no longer able to take care of himself. His family reported that it was like taking care of a large infant.
