Fruits and vegetables may reduce depression risk

Last year, Chinese researchers published a study in the academic journalĀ Nutrition that showed a connection between fruit and vegetable consumption and depression risk.

The researchers analyzed 18 studies involving a combinedĀ 446,551 participants: 10 studies looked at fruit intake, and the other 8 looked at vegetable intake.

What the researchers found was an inverse relationship between fruit and vegetable consumption and depression risk. In other words, the more fruits and vegetables participants ate, the lower their risk of having depression.

This is just one more study in a long, growing list of studies showing what we at Truehope have been saying for over 20 years: that what we eat affects how we feel.
