Thanksgiving holiday hours

Monday, October 10, 20016 will be Thanksgiving in Canada. As a result, our support centre will be closed that day. Any orders placed over the weekend will be processed when we open for regular business hours the following day, Tuesday, October 11.

Also, our shipping centre recently moved locations, and the move took longer to complete than planned. As a result, there may be a slight delay on orders placed between 29 September and October 4. Contact us at support@truehope.com or 1.888.TRUEHOPE if you have any questions.

Canadian researchers published their case report in Annals of Psychiatry and Mental Health last month. The case followed a 35-year-old man who had sustained a severe traumatic brain injury 8 years prior to the study. Health care providers had helped him gain control of most of his traumatic brain injury symptoms, except one. He had episodes when he would lose control of his emotions. Psychiatrists, unable to manage it,

Have you experienced depression? Take this survey

The Alberta Depression Research Priority Setting project invites you to take part in a survey.

1 in 10 Canadians suffer from depression in their lifetime. Health research is often done without the response of patients and families who live with depression, people who care for those with depression, or health care professionals and clinicians who treat depression.

The research team believes that the voices of those with depression experience can make a difference in depression research;

Anxiety isn’t just panic attacks

People face anxiety-causing situations regularly. Expectations at school, work, or home, as well as in relationships can be particularly troubling. Whether we’re about to take a big test at school, interview for a new job, or propose to our significant other, it’s normal to be nervous and experience what people refer to as “butterflies in the stomach”.

It’s different with anxiety disorders. You’re not just nervous. Your feelings don’t go away. In fact, the anxiety can get worse and can negatively affect your overall health.
