4 eating habits to make you happier

Last month, Iranian researchers published an article in the Eating and Weight Disorders – Studies on Anorexia, Bulimia and Obesity showing yet another link between what we eat and how we feel.

The researchers had 541 students at the Qazvin University of Medical Sciences complete a web-based questionnaire that included questions to measure happiness and food consumption, as well as demographic information.

What they discovered was the the students who had the highest happiness scores also had the following 4 daily eating habits:

  1. Eat breakfast
  2. Eat at least 8 servings of fruit and vegetables
  3. Eat 3 meals
  4. Eat 1–2 snacks

This research joins a growing body of research showing a solid connection between nutrition and mental health.
